Story

A serene retreat crafted through modular precision and natural integration Nestled in the wooded enclave of East Hampton, the Northwest Woods Residence exemplifies the potential of modular construction harmonized with the natural landscape. Designed by RESOLUTION: 4 ARCHITECTURE, with interiors by Atelier + Concept, this home is a testament to the synergy between prefabrication and site-specific design. The residence is composed of ten prefabricated modules, crafted off-site in Pennsylvania, which were meticulously assembled in just two days. This efficient process did not compromise the bespoke nature of the home, which is tailored to its environment. The architecture respects strict site constraints, with rooflines and massing that respond to the natural topography. Bleached cedar siding offers a weathered aesthetic that blends seamlessly with the surrounding East End landscape. The home’s design prioritizes both privacy and openness. Large glass openings flood the interiors with light, while custom cedar brise soleils provide shade and privacy. The pool terrace, screened by cedar walls, extends from the main living area, creating a private yet open outdoor space. Inside, the foyer’s compressed ceiling height contrasts with the expansive living area, where floor-to-ceiling glass frames views of the surrounding woods.
