Story

A vacation condo that redefines luxury through family-centric design and ocean views In the picturesque setting of Los Cabos, Mexico, architect Louis Ruiz of Progressive Design Firm has crafted a vacation condo that departs from conventional luxury. This home is a sanctuary for a large family, designed for the rare moments they gather each year. The interiors, inspired by seventies aesthetics, feature sculptural forms and a rich palette of dark woods, light finishes, and layered textures. The living room serves as the social heart of the condo, with generous seating arrangements that maintain a constant visual connection to the ocean. Large openings blur the boundaries between interior and exterior, inviting sea breezes and natural light to permeate the space. The dining area is a dramatic focal point, with a cascade of Cerno Lex pendants creating an intimate atmosphere for meals. The expansive table accommodates large family gatherings, making the space versatile for celebrations or casual breakfasts. The kitchen complements the dining area with its own distinct identity, featuring Cerno Calx pendants and a harmonious blend of dark and light woods. This balance creates a warm yet contrasting environment. Outdoor living spaces transform the condo into a true gathering hub, with expansive lounge and dining areas that seamlessly integrate with the interior. The sundeck and infinity pool extend towards the horizon, offering a perfect setting for relaxation and family interaction. Inside, the games room offers a cozy retreat for slower evenings, complete with a pool table and bar area. The hallways, adorned with artwork, act as transitional galleries, while the bedrooms and bathrooms maintain the condo's warm material palette, enhancing the connection with the surrounding landscape.
