Story

A modern holiday home that balances bold forms with light-filled interiors. In the lush landscape of Monte-Mor, Brazil, Casa Jordão the architectural prowess of FGMF Arquitetos. This holiday home, nestled within a stud farm, adheres to strict building guidelines while offering a contemporary retreat. The design is rooted in simplicity, expanding a traditional house shape into two distinct volumes separated by a verdant garden. Externally, the house presents a striking black-painted volume, its geometry sharply contrasting with the surrounding greenery. This bold facade frames the exterior spaces, including a patio and an L-shaped pool that mirrors the sky and landscape. Inside, the material palette shifts dramatically. Light tauari wood lines the walls and ceilings, imbuing the space with warmth and brightness. A central custom room divider, crafted from wood and steel, elegantly defines the living areas without closing them off, maintaining a seamless flow between spaces. The layout is thoughtfully organized into two main volumes. One houses the social areas and kitchen, designed to engage with the outdoors, while the other offers privacy for bedrooms and a children's play area. This spatial organization is reinforced by a garden path leading to a pivoting front door, which marks the transition from public to private realms.
