Sa Nau . Eivissa
A military pavilion transformed into a multifunctional building emphasizing openness and adaptability. The Sa Nau project by atzur arquitectura is a thoughtful intervention in Building 601 of the Sa Coma service park. Originally a military pavilion, the building has been reimagined to support contemporary living, working, and socializing. The architectural approach celebrates the building's inherent regularity and symmetry, hallmarks of its military origins, while retaining its envelope to enhance energy efficiency and climatic performance. A key innovation is the transformation of the inner courtyard into a large skylight, creating a public gathering space that anchors the building's functions. The northeast wing is designated for offices, while the southwest wing accommodates exhibitions or conferences. Service areas are strategically placed along the northwest façade. The design promotes flexibility, allowing future adaptability, and enhances spatial dignity through openness, natural light, and improved ventilation. Exterior spaces are equally respected, preserving the site's identity while enhancing functionality and contemporary relevance.
