Interior space with yellow sofa, plants, table, chair, and window with natural light.

A bright interior space with a person relaxing on a yellow sofa, surrounded by lush green plants. A round table with a chair is placed near a window, allowing natural light to illuminate the room. The room features yellow accents and a visible yellow duct on the ceiling.

Story

A built experiment exploring new ways of inhabiting through matter, light, and environmental sensitivity.

Corrigan Estudio challenges conventional architectural paradigms by prioritizing climatic and sensory conditions over traditional functional schemes. The project, located in Pinto, Madrid, emerges from an atmospheric inquiry: What if architecture began with the conditions that make presence possible? This innovative approach leads to a space where temperature, light, humidity, sound, and intimacy are regulated to define spatial boundaries.

The design employs lightweight and porous materials, such as metal meshes, translucent polycarbonate, and textile curtains, alongside natural vegetation, to create a fluid and organic spatial organization. A central translucent oval provides privacy while allowing natural light to permeate, and movable panels offer flexibility, enabling the configuration of rest or retreat areas.

  • Utilization of metal meshes and translucent polycarbonate for light filtration and privacy.

  • Integration of natural vegetation as a structural and regulatory element.

  • Fluid spatial organization with a free-plan layout.

  • Central translucent oval for intimate spaces.

  • Movable panels for adaptable space configuration.
