AS Houses
Reimagining Coexistence in Corella In Corella, the AS Houses by Beguiristáin and Lecumberri challenge the conventional approach to residential design. Situated on sister plots, these two detached dwellings redefine the notion of proximity and privacy. Instead of aligning with the traditional model of houses joined at the back, these structures stand apart, creating a protective yet non-touching relationship. The architectural strategy harmonizes the complex geometry of the site with optimal orientation, ensuring privacy from surrounding views. The houses engage discreetly with their neighborhood, leaning on the bordering streets and opening slightly to the midday sun. This configuration liberates a central space of light and tranquility. The program unfolds over two floors. The ground floor, public and open, faces inward, with a dividing wall ensuring privacy. The upper floor, housing bedrooms and bathrooms, looks only toward the public road, avoiding views over neighboring gardens.
