Story

Historic charm meets modern luxury along the Rijn Nestled along the banks of the Rijn, Home Wilhelminalaan the harmonious blend of early 20th-century architecture and contemporary design. Studio Modijefsky has meticulously transformed this historic Dutch residence into a family home that celebrates both its classical origins and modern extensions. The residence, with its commanding facade, now integrates a private bar, wellness wing, and multifunctional spaces, all while maintaining a seamless connection to the river. Large windows throughout the home frame the picturesque views of the Rijn, allowing natural light to flood the interiors, where warm materials and custom detailing unify the old and new sections. The living room, accessible through textured glass doors, exudes warmth with earth-toned fabrics, walnut wood, and copper accents. An open fireplace serves as the focal point, with integrated cabinetry enhancing functionality and cohesion. The dining area, positioned strategically between the living room and kitchen, features a dark walnut table that adds depth to the light palette, fostering an open and social atmosphere. The kitchen, a blend of warm timber and industrial materials, includes a large island facing the garden, merging practicality with elegance. Outside, Arjan Boekel's garden design connects the main house to the waterfront through seating zones and pathways, enhancing the indoor-outdoor living experience. The private bar and wellness area, wrapped in travertine, offer luxurious spaces for relaxation and entertainment, with large windows maintaining a visual connection to the garden.
