Lake House . Kownatki
A contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Masurian architecture Nestled within the lake-studded Masuria region, the Lake House in Kownatki is a testament to refined leisure living. Designed by Archmondo, this model residence is part of a larger development spread over 36 hectares of pine forests and pristine waters. The architecture is a modern take on the traditional gabled structures of the region, encapsulated in a sleek metal envelope with a standing-seam roof. The façade is a study in contrast and texture, featuring ventilated ACP panels covered by charred Siberian larch timber slats. This choice of materials provides a durable, weather-resistant exterior. Large glazed openings and a generous terrace blur the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing the home to breathe with the rhythm of the forest and lake. Inside, the 110 sqm house is designed for effortless family living. The heart of the home is a double-height living room with a fireplace, seamlessly connected to an open kitchen and dining area. Three ground floor bedrooms, including a master suite, are thoughtfully arranged around this central space. A sculptural staircase leads to a mezzanine, offering a flexible area for work or play, and an additional upper-level bedroom with its own bathroom. Natural ash wood and architectural concrete define the interior palette, softened by expansive glazing that frames views of the surrounding greenery. Lightweight sliding doors further integrate the living space with the terrace and garden, creating a harmonious dialogue with the landscape.
