A sculptural coffee shop in Jakarta, defined by its bold triangular form. In the bustling cityscape of Jakarta, Bermuda Coffee and Eatery emerges as a distinctive architectural statement. Designed by STUDIÉ, the coffee shop is a testament to the power of geometric simplicity. The building's A-frame silhouette, rotated 45 degrees, captures attention from the street, transforming a simple triangle into a dynamic architectural feature. The exterior is characterized by a raw, monolithic appearance, achieved through the use of exposed concrete cladding. This is complemented by red printed bricks and custom iron frames that accentuate the building's sharp geometry. Large glass walls invite natural light into the interior, creating a bright and open atmosphere. Inside, the triangular form continues to impress. A wood-lined ceiling softens the space, while the expansive glazing allows sunlight to dance across terrazzo floors. The interior design cleverly uses terrazzo with split-stone detailing to navigate the challenging angles of the floor plan. The experience of the cafe changes with the weather. During rain, water on the large windows creates a cinematic atmosphere, blurring the boundary between inside and outside. At night, hidden lighting transforms the outdoor seating area into a softly glowing extension of the cafe, highlighting the building's sharp lines.
