Story

Blending traditional stone craftsmanship with modern design In the serene landscape of Mallorca, Casa Fly emerges as a testament to the harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary architecture. Designed by BEEF ARCHITEKTI, this home draws inspiration from the island's historic stone structures, particularly the dry stone technique known as “Pedra en sec.” This method, recognized by UNESCO, is reflected in the robust stone facade that enhances the building's thermal performance. Set amidst pine trees with panoramic sea views, the house embodies Mediterranean living with its clean lines and minimalist interiors. The entrance is marked by a striking bronze angel statue, setting an artistic tone that continues throughout the home. Inside, materials like lime plaster, wood, and concrete create a warm yet restrained atmosphere, allowing custom-made furnishings to shine. The kitchen, a blend of sleek functionality and natural materials, opens seamlessly to an outdoor dining area, reinforcing the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. An infinity pool extends towards the horizon, merging with the sea and sky, while traditional wooden shutters offer a modern twist, providing shade and airflow. Casa Fly's design incorporates passive cooling strategies, with thick stone walls and strategic openings ensuring comfort throughout the year. Bedrooms and bathrooms are designed for light and ventilation, with large windows framing views of the landscape. The inclusion of a gym built around natural rock formations further ties the home to its rugged surroundings.
