Story

A rural revival in Casas de Pradas

In the small village of Casas de Pradas, CASA FELIPA reimagines a traditional home, melding it with contemporary living. The project begins by stripping the interior of its deteriorating partitions and floors, leaving a robust stone shell. A new ceramic-block wall reinforces the structure, while a timber roof inclines to invite sunlight, creating an interplay between light and shadow.

The design respects the rural context by utilizing locally available materials, each texture narrating the passage of time. Custom-designed furniture pieces, such as modular stools and a trapezoidal table, enhance the continuity between architecture and craft. The spatial journey unfolds from a lower street through a courtyard, over a topographic floor, offering spaces for gathering, self-care, and contemplation.

The house culminates at an upper terrace, offering panoramic views of the landscape, transforming the dwelling into a pathway that reconnects with cultural roots and the natural environment.
