CANO HOUSE
Spatial logic meets site-specific design in Alicante Cano House, designed by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos, is a residential project that seamlessly integrates spatial logic with site-specific design. Located along a main avenue in Alicante, the house is organized into three distinct zones: the night zone, the day zone, and a dedicated space for training and sports practice. Positioned on the western edge of the plot, the architecture allows for an expanded outdoor space linked to the living area, enhancing its connection with the garden and pool. The main access is from the quieter eastern side, reinforcing the house's privacy. A transitional space between the day zone and the sports area, oriented north-south, facilitates cross ventilation. The night zone is oriented eastward, ensuring a direct relationship with the morning light. The volumetric composition features two lower volumes flanking a larger central body, which houses the living area. This central volume appears to levitate, its deep edge reinforcing its presence and identity. Inside, a warm chromatic palette and oak wood elements provide texture and depth, complemented by the lighting's color temperature to create a domestic atmosphere. The structural system within the central volume allows for a wide, uninterrupted span, reinforcing the open character of the house and blurring the boundary between interior and exterior.
