Story

AR Residences

Bioclimatic design meets Lake Garda's natural beauty

Located on the western shore of Lake Garda, the AR Residences are positioned where the landscape transitions into a fjord-like setting, framed by steep mountain slopes. The architecture thoughtfully integrates with the natural and historical context, respecting the site's morphology and agricultural heritage, particularly its lemon groves.

The design adheres to bioclimatic principles, minimizing environmental impact while enhancing sustainability. The residences are strategically placed on the western plot, aligning with the natural contour lines to reduce soil disturbance and maintain a respectful distance from the historic center.

The spatial organization features living areas on the upper floors, offering expansive views of the lake, while the sleeping quarters are situated below. Private staircases provide access, reducing communal spaces. The buildings' south-facing orientation, complemented by deep facade screens and overhanging roofs, optimizes solar energy use and ensures climatic comfort.

Materiality is expressed through exposed concrete, glass, and green roofs, which blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, reflecting the colors and lights of the Garda environment.
