Story

A harmonious blend of urban living and community spaces in Palma de Mallorca In the vibrant city of Palma de Mallorca, the Can Ribes social housing project by Ofici: arquitectura thoughtful urban integration. The development comprises 43 public protection housing units, strategically divided into two distinct volumes, each with its own character and spatial orientation. The Brotad building, with its vertical emphasis, aligns along Carrer de Brotad and Plaça de Can Ribes. It features a ground floor and three upper levels, with terraces that offer views into an interior square, fostering a sense of community among residents. The Tous building, in contrast, adopts a horizontal layout along Carrer de Tous and Carrer de Ferriol. This structure is more intimate, with ground floor terraces providing direct street access, enhancing the connection between private and public realms. Central to the project is an interior square, a communal heart that is both a physical and social connector between the two buildings. This space is designed to encourage interaction and community building, separated from the adjacent Plaça de Can Ribas by a subtle fence, ensuring both openness and privacy.
