Integrating traditional rural motifs with contemporary design Positioned at the southern entrance of a protected settlement, Feldstrass by Marazzi Reinhardt is a thoughtful architectural response to its rural context. The project consists of two hierarchically graded volumes that enclose dual courtyards, creating a dialogue between public and private spaces.
The main building's footprint mirrors historical structures, while its 30° pitched gable roof draws inspiration from agricultural barns, subtly integrating with the existing residential fabric. The secondary building, featuring a simple pent roof, complements the primary structure, forming a cohesive ensemble.
A gravel driveway links the buildings to the street, while a low retaining wall defines the backyard, creating a forecourt that enhances the spatial legibility of the site. The south facade of the shed, with its distinctive character, serves as the main facade of the secondary building.
The outdoor space is thoughtfully divided into a graveled courtyard, garden areas, and a natural meadow, offering varied environments for different uses.
