La Teixonera Civic Centre
Preserving Heritage, Enriching Community The La Teixonera Civic Centre project, led by HARQUITECTES, revitalizes the historic Bòbila de la Teixonera, a former brick factory dating back to 1906, into a vibrant cultural and civic hub. This transformation invigorates the social and cultural fabric of the Barcelona neighborhood. The building's rectangular plan, covering 780 m², features two floors. The ground floor is reimagined with ten 25 m² rooms for shared community use, linked by a central corridor. The first floor, currently an open-plan space, will host a spacious 370 m² hall with a large window and porch, alongside rehearsal studios and a multipurpose room. The project spans a total of 1,623 m², utilizing the structure's thermal inertia and integrating high energy efficiency and passive bioclimatic systems. Externally, a 280 m² area will be developed to enhance accessibility and create an inviting public space with street furniture and greenery, bridging Trueba Street and Adolf Marsillach Square.
