Entenbad Residential
An Urban Suburban House in Dietikon The Entenbad Residential project by Studio Märkli is a thoughtful addition to the urban landscape of Dietikon, Switzerland. Situated at the intersection of Schöneggstrasse and Asylstrasse, this multi-story building harmonizes with the existing neighborhood while addressing the ongoing urban expansion. The design respects the historical context by preserving an ecologically valuable garden, which is made visible from the street through an open access situation and a covered outdoor space. The building's architecture is defined by its angular figure, which frames the street intersection with two wings, creating a spatial dialogue with the surrounding environment. The use of a steel skeleton structure filled with wood-concrete composite ceilings and wood-frame wall elements ensures a robust yet flexible framework. The facade features vertical concrete pillars and horizontal balustrades of pre-weathered wood, lending the building a dynamic and textured appearance. Inside, the apartments are designed with shallow building depths, allowing for outdoor spaces on both sides. This design choice enhances the living experience by connecting residents with both the garden and the sunny street side. The flexible room layouts accommodate various uses, from living to working spaces, supported by generous room heights of 2.6 meters.
