Congress Center Elche
A regenerative architectural vision for Elche
Elche, a city steeped in history and tradition, serves as the backdrop for the Congress Center, designed by TALLER HECTOR BARROSO. This project embodies a commitment to urban integration, environmental and social regeneration, and a distinctive architectural identity rooted in the local context.
The building is conceived as a solid yet permeable volume, crafted from warm-toned concrete and brickwork. These materials evoke a sense of earth and time, while intentional fractures in the structure create openings that invite light, air, and the city into the building's core. The volumetric scale is meticulously calibrated to respect both the urban and natural surroundings, engaging in a dialogue with the height of the palm trees and the horizontality of the landscape.
