Café Restaurant Resselpark
A harmonious blend of tradition and modernity in Vienna's urban fabric Nestled in the heart of Vienna's Resselpark, the Café Restaurant Resselpark by PPAG architects offers a unique dining experience that respects and revitalizes its historic context. The design presents a series of small, house-like structures that face the public, creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages both regulars and newcomers to linger. This architectural approach fosters a human scale, making each visitor feel as though they have their own personal space within the bustling park. The project involved a comprehensive spatial reorganization within the oval bordered by a hedge, characteristic of Karlsplatz. This reorganization opened up opportunities for improvement by reactivating multiple passageways and integrating the listed Tilgner fountain. The ground was unsealed and unified, allowing the sidewalk café to blend seamlessly into the general area, enhancing the park's accessibility and aesthetic appeal.
