Stenkløvervej Vacation House
A compact summer retreat in Sjællands Odde, embracing sustainable materials and minimal living. The Stenkløvervej Vacation House, designed by Filip Karl Edward, is a testament to the philosophy of "Less is Enough." Situated in the serene landscape of Sjællands Odde, Denmark, this summer house redefines the concept of seasonal living by prioritizing intimacy and sustainability over expansive space. The house is a simple rectangular volume, housing four bedrooms, each offering a private view of the surrounding landscape. This design fosters both family interaction and individual retreat within a single structure. The compact layout encourages a modest lifestyle, with a focus on outdoor living during the summer months. Constructed from locally sourced wood and insulated with wood fibre, the house's exterior is clad in Thermowood, ensuring durability and environmental responsibility. Inside, clay plaster and lime paint create a breathable, soft aesthetic, enhancing the natural feel of the space. This project challenges the conventional notion of summer residences by integrating all necessary functions within a reduced footprint, demonstrating that sustainability encompasses both materials and spatial economy.
