Stand for Circo de Ideias
A vibrant installation at Porto's book fair Within the confines of a 3-by-3-metre footprint at Porto's book fair, Fala has crafted an installation that defies the neutrality typically expected of such temporary structures. The project utilizes leftover metal profiles, repainted in a fresh and almost excessive palette, assembled into a three-dimensional grid. This grid recalls the work of Eisenman, yet avoids his characteristic collisions, as profiles of the same color never meet but rather resolve into knots. The installation's structural logic is subtly disrupted by a central column, introducing a quiet instability. A second layer of mirrored cladding on the interior perimeter extends the space visually, replicating and projecting the surrounding environment, including books, visitors, and even the occasional bird. This mirrored effect creates an illusion of depth, transforming the initial constraints of the stand into an expansive field. The choice of colors, developed alongside other projects, finds an unexpected harmony with the peacocks inhabiting the nearby park. When these birds pass by, the installation momentarily aligns with its context, suggesting a premeditated calibration between the constructed and the accidental.
