Casa BM
A Masterful Blend of Transformation and Subtlety
At the entrance to the Po Valley in the province of Cuneo, Casa BM stands as a testament to the art of architectural transformation. Designed by ErranteArchitetture, this project takes a disused 1960s dwelling and reimagines it into a modern family residence that harmonizes with its surroundings.
The house, completed in early 2025, spans approximately 450 square meters, incorporating the original structure and a new pavilion. The intervention redefines the existing volume, expanding its functions and creating an L-shaped plan that opens southward to embrace the garden and landscape. A full-height glazed façade connects the interior to the exterior, enhancing the relationship with the surrounding environment.
ErranteArchitetture's design philosophy is evident in the careful preservation of the original structure's external shell, while the interiors are reconfigured with simple, raw materials like exposed concrete and pine plywood. Custom-designed details and built-in furniture add a touch of experimentation to the ordinary, creating a space that feels both surprising and familiar.
