"We Are Together Again . 2026" is a testament to the collaborative spirit of Louisville's musicians, orchestrated by the renowned Bonnie “Prince” Billy. This project is a continuation of the Louisville-first mandate, bringing together a diverse array of local talent to create a rich tapestry of sound. The recording sessions took place at the End of an Ear studio, with Jim Marlowe at the engineering helm, co-producing alongside Bonnie. The project features an impressive lineup of musicians, including Jacob Duncan and Thomas Deakin, who bring their expertise in flute, saxophone, clarinet, and more. The inclusion of modular synth by Chris Bush and the ethereal harp contributions by Erin Hill add layers of complexity and depth to the compositions. Ryder McNair's string quartet arrangements and Ned Oldham's return to bass and vocals further enrich the soundscape. The album also sees contributions from Catherine Irwin and the band Duchess, whose harmonies bookend the album with poignant reflections on fear.
