Cultural and Musical Space 111 Bruyères
A harmonious blend of history and modernity
Nestled in the vibrant city of Sèvres, the Cultural and Musical Space 111 Bruyères stands as a testament to architectural ingenuity and cultural integration. Designed by Tracks Architectes, this facility draws inspiration from the historical morphology of nearby terraced houses, seamlessly incorporating one of these structures into its modern design. The center's strategic location and thoughtful design make it a hub for cultural and musical activities.
The facility's layout is a synthesis of programmatic needs and site characteristics, featuring a prominent concert hall, the "Studio-Escena," which acts as an acoustic barrier against the bustling main road. The gabled roof dialogues with the preserved house, echoing its dimensions and enhancing the architectural narrative. The complex's volumes are not only functional but also serve as visual markers, with the main volume doubling as signage.
The center's interior is a harmonious blend of sound-absorbing spaces, including music studios and teaching offices, creating distinct zones for sound production. The use of a timber frame is an innovative choice for an acoustically designed building, complemented by the powder-coated, micro-corrugated metal sheeting that clads the exterior.
